The FilmArtFestival Mecklenburg-Pomerania in Schwerin ((ドイツ語:filmkunstfest Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)), founded in 1991 – just after the fall of the wall – is today one of East Germany's largest film festivals with more than 17,000 visitors. It has a competition for feature film, documentary film and short film to be produced or co-produced in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. The main prize is the Flying Ox ((ドイツ語:Fliegender Ochse)), a hint to the armorial bearings of the State of Mecklenburg, the Taurus. The main prize is endowed with 10.000 € by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture Mecklenburg-Pomerania. The Findling Award is by the umbrella organization of the art house cinemas, cultural cinemas and film clubs, the Verband für Filmkommunikation.
